Classes start at 6:30 pm. and ends around 8:30 pm. Classes are held at A Happy Camper 1848 Addison Ave. East in Twin Falls Idaho. You must prepay to save a spot in each class. Most important you need to bring a chair to sit in. Other things you might want to bring is note pad and pen and some water to drink. If you have questions just call 208-736-8048.

Dutch Oven Classes
The first class We had a Surprise Teacher who will remain nameless!!! We learned how to clean and store your Dutch Oven. We talked about lid lifters, lid rests, aluminum dutch ovens vs. cast iron dutch ovens and of course the dutch oven liners. We talked about the Camp Chef Cast Iron Conditioner and how you can or can not leave it in your dutch oven for 6 to 8 months. Camp Chef Cast Iron Conditioner Dutch Oven Camp Liners
I think the new thing that I learned is that you can use Camp Chef's Cast Iron Conditioner on your dutch ovens now. For years we thought it was a waist of time. But Colleen put it to the test over the last year and it came out a winner!! What you need to do is clean your dutch oven with the vinegar and then you can put it away with about a dime size of the Camp Chef conditioner and it will keep without going rancid for about 8 to 9 months!! WOW!! See we can learn some new things!!!

We Made:
Scout Breakfast Casserole & Toad Hole Breakfast from page 99 in the Log Cabin Dutch Oven Cookbook Log Cabin Dutch Oven Cookbook The only suggestion I would make is to Make the Toad in Hole Breakfast in a 10" dutch oven or double the recipe. Plus we added one more egg and about 1/4 cup of Milk to make it a little more runny. Almost like a pancake batter.
The 2nd Class One Pot Meals Class
Colleen did 3 recipes for us. Turkey Pot Pie, Chinese Hamburger Casserole, and a One Pot Breakfast with Eggs & Sausage. Tom brought a very very old Griswald fry pan with lid for us all to see too!! They were about 70 plus years old. His mother got them as a wedding gift.

Just like when you are out camping and you run out of propane in your tank when you are just about half way thought cooking your meal!! Good thing Colleen brought another tank!!! We used the Dutch Oven dome to cook all our meals this time. We did not light one briquette!! We had a nice Camp Chef 2-burner stove and we were off and cooking. Until we ran out of propane that is!!

Colleen told a few jokes. One about squikey shoes and another about losing a little water!! I guess you had to be there to understand those!!!
Tom & Barb shared their new way to cook omelets in a dutch oven. All you do is put out all the goodies you want for an omelet. Then you put in a freeze zip lock bag one egg and all the goodies you want. Mix it up well and then you just drop it in your dutch oven with boiling water it in and let it cook till it is done. They said the kids just LOVED it. Sound easy and fun to me too!!!
